The Royal Hotel
Tucked away on the breezy seafront at 1 S Parade, Weston-super-Mare, The Royal Hotel offers a classic British charm with a side of comfort that’s hard to ignore. It’s not just a place to rest your head-it’s a full-blown experience, especially if you're after that quintessential coastal escape with delicious bites, a relaxed atmosphere, and all the right conveniences.
Let’s talk vibe first. The Royal Hotel feels like a blend between old-school grandeur and modern-day convenience. The elegant exterior draws you in, but it’s the warm, down-to-earth hospitality and the inviting in-house restaurant that really make you stay. It’s kid-friendly, beach-adjacent, and filled with those small touches-like free parking and Wi-Fi-that add up to a pretty convenient stop, whether you’re here for a family trip or a weekend reset.
Now, on to what really matters-the restaurant. The dining area at The Royal Hotel isn’t flashy, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s spacious, relaxed, and just formal enough to make dinner feel like a bit of a treat. Breakfast here is a real highlight. Guests love the hearty English breakfast spread that includes everything from golden hash browns to perfectly poached eggs. And yes, they serve until late morning, so no worries if you’re not a morning person.
Lunch and dinner follow with a solid variety of British and European fare. Think fish and chips done right, juicy steaks, rich pies, and seasonal vegetable sides that are far from an afterthought. Vegetarian dishes are available and not just thrown in as an afterthought-they're actually well-prepared and flavorful, with options like roasted vegetable pasta or cheesy mushroom bakes. The kitchen knows how to balance comfort and creativity, making this a safe yet satisfying choice for mixed groups and picky eaters.
There’s also an on-site bar, which adds another layer of chill to the whole experience. Whether you’re nursing a pint after a long beach walk or just winding down before dinner, the bar space is cozy and social without being noisy. It’s perfect for solo travelers looking to unwind or couples who want a relaxed drink before heading upstairs.
Another plus? The beach access. You can roll out of your hotel room and be on the sand within minutes. It’s this seamless flow between seaside leisure and indoor comfort that makes the hotel-and its restaurant-stand out. You’re not trekking through crowds or driving for miles just to get a decent view. Everything’s right there, and that convenience is worth its weight in gold.
In terms of accessibility, The Royal Hotel does a respectable job. While it doesn't have a pool, air-conditioning, or gym facilities, it makes up for that with wheelchair-accessible features, spacious layouts, and room service that’s both fast and friendly. Whether you're dining downstairs or requesting food in-room, the staff seem genuinely committed to making sure every guest feels taken care of.
For travelers needing a quick bite before check-out or those who want to linger over a slow dinner after a full day at the beach, The Royal Hotel delivers. It may not market itself as a fine dining destination, but it doesn’t have to-it thrives in being dependable, welcoming, and exactly what you need when you’re looking to eat well without any fuss.

"I had the pleasure of being the official wedding photographer at The Royal Hotel, and I cannot recommend this venue enough! What a fantastic wedding venue—perfect for creating unforgettable memories. The abundance of natural light indoors made capturing stunning photos a breeze. The large, beautifully maintained gardens provided a picturesque setting for outdoor shots, and the close proximity to the beach allowed for a wonderful variety of photographic opportunities. The team at The Royal Hotel is incredibly professional and accommodating, ensuring every detail is flawless. Whether you're looking for elegance, charm, or breathtaking backdrops, this venue has it all!"
We had our Disney themed wedding here on 31/08/24 and exceptional is not enough to describe it! Kerry was an amazing coordinator, took time to understand our needs and really got invested in our wedding. The staff on duty that day were there if you needed anyone but never felt like they were in the way or intruding. The food was absolutely delicious and all our wedding guests were more than impressed with the service, quality and quantity. Breakfast the morning after was no different, the variety of pastries were to die for. We would recommend the hotel for weddings to anyone! Our grandparents have even booked to stay here now for Christmas and we will definitely be back for food at least!
